AEF presents $15,000 to the Arlington School District to establish a choral library for all five elementary schools.

Thank you to everyone who attended the AEF’s inaugural “Passport to Washington Wines” event on September 24, 2009. The evening was a marvelous success and raised over $12,000 to support its 2009
Pay It Forward projects in the Arlington public schools.

It was an evening filled with astounding amusement for the palate at the Arlington Education Foundation’s inaugural “Passport to Washington Wines” fundraiser attended by about 80 guests.

Passport – held at the beautifully restored Magnolia Hall building in Arlington - featured wines poured by five local wineries: Willis Hall from Marysville; Lantz Cellars from Everett; Coyote Canyon from Prosser; Samson Estates from Everson; and Carpenter Creek from Mount Vernon. Appétit Catering prepared a menu of paired tastes for each winery featured at Passport.

A selection of wine-related trips and baskets were donated and  by The Fischer House – Walla Walla; Fine Gifts by Arlington Pharmacy; Keith & Mary Kesselring; Virginia Collins & Bucky Tart; Karen Varnell; Coyote Canyon Winery; and Samson Estates Winery. The evening ended with the presentation of a magnificent pear-shaped diamond (5/8 ct) to one lucky guest, Jim Weiss.

The fundraiser’s success was due to a very generous community combined with tremendous support from event sponsors: Sierra Property Management (Brad & Anita McKinley); Magnolia Hall (Drs. Scott & Rhonda Peseau); DBR Gemstone; Arlington Family Chiropractic; Eagle Family Dental; Jim Minifie/State Farm Insurance; Dr. Craig & Margaret Hedlund/Hedlund Chiropractic; Advanced Orthopaedic Institute; Dr. John & Kelly Dykstra; Penway Printing & Design; and Jason Schonaerts.

“We’re thrilled with the success of this year's inaugural Passport event”, said Cindy Huleatt, President, Arlington Education Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who joined us for this spectacular evening. All funds raised from Passport will go directly towards supporting the AEF’s three selected Pay It Forward projects for 2009.”
